The Big Match coverage comes with thanks to George Corbett Skoda.

WLR will bring you both of this year’s Waterford Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals LIVE this Sunday – as part of a Super Sunday broadcast thanks to George Corbett Skoda.

It promises to be an electric atmosphere at Walsh Park as action gets underway from 1.15pm with the meeting of city rivals Mount Sion and Roanmore.

Mount Sion have won six out of six so far this season – though they did require extra-time last time out to overcome Clonea in the quarter-final.

Jamie O’Meara’s men are bidding to win a first News & Star Cup since 2006 – and standing in their way of a place in the final are bitter rivals Roanmore.

Roanmore also needed extra-time to reach the last four – overcoming Fourmilewater by 2-20 to 1-21 thanks to a Rory Furlong goal with the final puck of the sliotar.

The Sky Blues are seeking a place in the decider for just the third time in their history and the first time in four years.

Kieran O’Connor and former Waterford senior hurling boss Michael Ryan will bring you through the action from 1pm.

Following that mouthwatering opener, attentions turn to the clash of 12-in-a-row seeking champions Ballygunner and De La Salle.

The 3pm throw-in pits the sides against one another for the second time this season – the Gunners won the reverse fixture 3-27 to 0-20 in one of their finest displays of the campaign so far.

Jason Ryan’s men can make it 65 games unbeaten in Waterford with victory but De La Salle will have ambitions of their own as they chase a first county crown since 2012.

De La Salle saw off Lismore in style last time out while the Gunners had 18 points to spare against Passage.

Tomas McCarthy and former Gunners star Andy Moloney are on commentary duty from 2.45pm.

Once the senior semi-finals come to a close, we’ll know who will face off in this year’s senior decider – and attentions will then turn to the Junior ‘A’ decider – and Ballygunner are once again involved.

They take on Kilrossanty – who reached the Munster Final last year – at 4.45pm.

Sunday also promises to have ramifications of seismic proportion in the relegation stakes – as Ferrybank face the Brickey Rangers at Lemybrien for a 12pm throw-in.

Neither side have won so far this year but the Brickeys have been within a puck of a ball on multiple occasions as they seek a first senior victory in 60 years.

They lost out to Dungarvan last time out while Ferrybank were defeated by Abbeyside Ballinacourty. The stakes couldn’t be any higher as someone will pick up that elusive and all important victory.

On Saturday, the county premier intermediate and intermediate champions will also be crowned at Walsh Park.

Western champions An Rinn take on Eastern kingpins Roanmore in the intermediate decider at 2.30pm before the meeting of Tallow and Ballygunner in the premier intermediate equivalent at 4.30pm.

Victory for the Gunners could see them field two teams at senior level next season.

Competition regulations don’t prevent The Gunners from having two representations among the 12 top teams in the 2026 competition, although the decision may ultimately be left up to the Waterford city club.

Opponents Tallow are seeking to return to senior level at the first time of asking having been relegated last year for the first time in 39 seasons.

The sides met in the group phase earlier this year, Ballygunner prevailing with four points to spare.

WLR will have LIVE updates throughout the day on Saturday thanks to Tomas McCarthy.
