Déise defender Megan Dunford was named on the Division 1 Team of the League this week.
She marked the top forwards in the game and burst up the field to kick a point against Galway. The Abbeyside representative won an All Ireland intermediate with Waterford in 2015 and added Division 2 and Division 3 medals.
Manager Pat Sullivan says that she is a driving force in the dressing room. "She does it in training every night of the week and every game we play. Her ability but more importantly her leadership is top class. Certain players get awards and it changes them. Megan has never changed from Under 14 to Under 16 to where she is now. It's a recognition of the work she does off the field and the work she does on the field every day. She could get an award every day she plays because she never has a bad game."
Waterford play host to Kerry in the first round of the Munster championship on Sunday at Fraher Field. Pat Sullivan and Megan Dunford will feature on Friday's Lár Na Páirce show from 6.10.
