SETU Wildcats claimed a dramatic 93–89 victory over Glanmire UCC last night at the Mercy Gym in a thrilling, high-scoring encounter in the Domino’s Women’s Super League.

Despite leading from the opening 10 seconds, SETU only regained the lead with six minutes remaining in the final quarter, before holding their nerve to secure what proved to be a must-win result in their league campaign.

The game was played at a blistering pace, with both sides lighting up the scoreboard and trading long-range three-pointers throughout. It was one of the highest-scoring games of the season so far.

That trio combined for roughly three-quarters of UCC’s total score, keeping the visitors in contention right to the final buzzer.

With momentum swinging late and both teams landing superb shots from beyond the arc, the closing minutes were tense. However, SETU showed composure and resilience to close out the game and secure a crucial victory in front of a lively home crowd.
