Nottingham Forest are searching for their fourth head coach of a chaotic season after sacking Sean Dyche.

The club dismissed Dyche following a goalless Premier League draw with bottom side Wolves on Wednesday night. He spent just 114 days in charge at the City Ground.

Forest created several chances against Wolves but failed to score. The result leaves them three points above the relegation zone.

The club confirmed the decision in a short statement. It read: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.

“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

“We will be making no further comment at this time.”

Forest enjoyed a strong campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo last season. They finished seventh in the Premier League and secured European football for the first time since 1995-96. A poor run-in cost them a Champions League place.

Nuno signed a new three-year deal in June 2025. However, the club sacked him in September after his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis broke down.

Forest then turned to former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou. His spell lasted just 40 days. Marinakis dismissed him within minutes of a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Dyche took over on October 21. The Nottingham-born coach began his reign with a win over Porto. A 3-0 victory at champions Liverpool a month later raised hopes of a revival.

Results soon dipped again. Wednesday’s draw means Forest have won only two of their last 10 league matches. They also exited the FA Cup after losing to Championship side Wrexham.

Forest now face another key decision as they battle to avoid relegation.
