Waterford golfer Seamus Power has withdrawn from this week's The American Express event on the PGA Tour - on account of scheduling reasons.

The world number 89 will instead tee it up at Torrey Pines next week at the $9m Farmers Insurance Open.

The Touraneena native returned from a five-month injury layoff recently to finish T50 at the Sentry Open and T74 at the Sony Open in Hawaii last week.

The two-time PGA Tour winner will be looking to get a run of form together in order to return to the top 50 of the world golf rankings - which would duly see him book his place at the Augusta Masters in April.
