Séamus Power sits second following fine opening round at Torrey Pines

An excellent opening round from Séamus Power saw him enter the clubhouse in a share of the lead at the Genesis Invitational on the PGA Tour overnight.
Despite dropping a shot at the second, the Touraneena man fought back to knock in four birdies posting a -3 69 overall.
Power shared the overnight lead alongside world number one Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Rodgers.
The Waterford native is now T2 with the lead held by Denny McCarthy on -4.
He tees off at 6.36pm Irish time on Friday.
Only 19 of the 72-strong field finished under par.
Rory McIlroy is level par while Shane Lowry is +1.
There is no 36-hole cut and all 72 players will play the full weekend, with a prize pot of $4m on offer for the eventual overall winner.
