Waterford’s Seamus Power remains right in the hunt heading into the final round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, carding a tidy three-under 67 on Saturday to keep himself firmly in contention.
Starting the day six shots off the pace, the Touraneena man did exactly what he needed to do to stay within touching distance of the leaders — and keep his interest very much alive heading into Sunday.
Power, who lifted this same trophy back in 2022, is under pressure as he battles to secure his PGA Tour card for 2026. Sitting 126th in the FedEx Fall standings, he needs a big finish either this evening or next week at the season-ending RSM Classic in Georgia.
The top 100 players will keep full status for 2026, while those from 101–125 earn only conditional status.
His third round didn’t start smoothly — a bogey on the opening hole, but the West Waterford man immediately hit back with a birdie at the second.
He added two more at the fourth and sixth to get his round moving in the right direction.
Power kept things tidy on the back nine, avoiding mistakes and picking up another birdie on 14 before rolling in a final birdie on 18 to finish on a high.
The 67 brings him to nine under par, good enough to sit inside the top 10 and just three shots off the lead.
American duo Adam Schenk and Brad Thornberry head into Sunday tied for the lead on -12, but Power is very much in striking distance.
With one round to go, he’s given himself every opportunity to climb further up those crucial Fall rankings.
