County board chairman Paddy Joe Ryan is confident that Walsh Park will host Waterford's Munster hurling championship matches against Clare and Limerick this summer.

After last night's meeting in Lawlors Hotel Dungarvan, Ryan told WLR Sport that he firmly believes that the city ground will be deemed suitable. "I'm as confident as anyone could be. Our manager has laid it on the line that they're going to be in Walsh Park."
The board are currently awaiting confirmation on the capacity for Walsh Park. Ryan hopes that they can cater for 11,500 spectators.
Meanwhile, Tom Guiry from The Nire has been appointed as Waterford minor football manager. The position had been vacant since Tom Flynn stepped down in November. Guiry will be joined by coach David Robinson and team secretary Gavin Whelan with two more selectors to be added.
Ryan said that they found it difficult to fill the position. He also appealed to clubs for nominations for the role of under 20 football manager.
