According to the Irish Independent, former Donegal football manager Jim McGuinness has been working as a performance coach with Waterford hurlers.

The article goes on to say that the extent of his involvement with Liam Cahill's side is not clear.

McGuinness, who managed the Donegal side that won the All Ireland in 2012, and was credited with turning the side around, has broad experience as a performance consultant in the field of soccer. He worked with Glasgow Celtic, as well as taking up roles with teams in China and the United States, and more recently with Derry City.

In an Irish Times column recently, McGuinness said he had been approached by several county teams, asking if he'd consider managerial and coaching roles.

“I spoke with all of them because I do love coaching and out of respect, really. You are going to listen to what someone has to say,” he wrote.

In November, former inter-county hurler and Mount Sion man Tony Browne was  added to the Waterford management team replacing Tom Feeney as a team selector. More here.
