Rathgormack face Abbeyside Ballinacourty in the Waterford Senior Football Championship Final this afternoon.

Rathgormack find themselves in the decider for the sixth year running as they bid for back-to-back Conway Cups.

Ballinacourty meanwhile are in the final for the first time since 2020, a year in which they got the better of Rathgormack.

Former Nire manager Michael Ryan says Rathgormack have been the standout performers in this year's championship.

"They're a really good team. They've matured, they've come on. I suppose the hurt of losing three county finals in a row kind of drove them on. Last year they were convincing winners against The Nire and they've pushed on even more this year and I think anybody who was at the game last week, you could sense at half time the game was over because right around the pitch they were winning all the personal battles. They have some really good footballers and they can score at will, their movement is very, very good up front. They're playing the game now with aplomb, they're absolutely relishing every minute of every game."

Ryan says Ballinacourty will have to be at their very best to cause an upset.

"In the back of Rathgormack's minds will surely be when they lost the first of those three county finals, they lost to Ballinacourty. They definitely wanted to even the score and I think that'll be in the back of their minds as well - so I don't see any hint of complacency in their camp. I think they'll realise there's a county final at stake. Unless they produce a top-class performance, they will find it hard to win it."

WLR will bring you the game live this afternoon. Join Tomas McCarthy and Gary Hurney for live commentary from 2.45pm.
