Henry De Bromhead's Kavanaghs Corner is a tricky customer and Rachael Blackmore is sure to delay her challenge on this fellow in the 3 miles handicap chase at 4.32.
At Kelso in the Scottish borders, their feature race is the 12 runner Morebattle Hurdle at 3.15 pm.  There are two Irish-trained runners, the Jessica Harrington trained Autumn Evening while Stuart Crawford is represented by Saint Deroux. Local trainer Robert Widger has a nice mare on his hands in Indie Belle and while she was penalised six pounds for winning at Punchestown boasts each-way claims in the 3.40 contest at Leopardstown.
Wexford stage their first meeting of 2022. Placed four times in bumpers for Con O Keeffe Kilbarry Chloe tries her hand over hurdles but it looks a hot mares maiden hurdle and appears destined for minor honours once more. In the same race Henry De Bromhead runs Rioga Choice and she is sure to improve on her debut fourth placing at Punchestown behind Cheltenham hope Kilcruit.
Horse Racing Snippets

Congratulations to Dungarvan breeder Niall Flynn as his Colreevy was awarded the National Hunt Mare of the year accolade by the ITBA (Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association).

Henry De Bromhead says that rider Robbie Power is highly likely to keep the ride on Minella Indo in the Gold Cup as Rachael Blackmore rides A Plus Tard. Jack Kennedy partnered ‘Minella’ to victory in last year’s Gold Cup but will more than likely be required by his retained stable of Gordon Elliott to partner one of their horses.

In a recent Racing Post question and answer session with leading amateur rider Patrick Mullins he was asked if you owned a jumps horse but it couldn’t be trained by a Mullins who would you put it in training with?
