A chip-in-eagle on the 14th as part of a bogey-free third round has left Seamus Power well in contention going in to the final round at the AT&T Byron Nelson on the PGA Tour.

The West Waterford native is tied for 7th alongside Doc Redman in Texas and will get his final 18 underway from 2.39pm this afternoon.

“I probably hit it better early on and didn’t really make anything happen and then I didn’t hit it great on the back but holed out a bunker shot on 14 for eagle".

"Then, yeah, miraculous up and down for birdie there on the last hole".

Still to secure his tour card for next season, Power will be eyeing up the gom stretch as a genuine opportunity at a maiden victory on the PGA Tour.

Three days in a row, Power has played wisely and began his third round with 8 consecutive pars, before making his first birdie of the day at the turn.

His back nine saw more improvement, gaining five shots on the leader Sam Burns who dropped shots on the 1st and 4th.

Seamus gets underway this afternoon alongside the American's Doc Redman and Scott Stallings.
