Waterford’s Seamus Power has a mountain of work to get through if he is to recover his weekend in California.
The Ballinamult man carded a first round 72 to finish level par on day one of the Pebble Beach “Pro Am” for a share of 75th on the leaderboard heading in to day 2.
American Patrick Cantlay holds the lead on 10 under, 2 shots ahead of his nearest chasers Akshay Bhatia (Usa) and Henrik Norlander (Swe).

In what was a very mixed round of golf for Seamus, he birdied the 4th, 7th and 15th – but it was the bogeys on the 6th, 8th and 9th that he will wish to forget, cancelling out his previous good work.
