Seamus Power is chasing a top-10 finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open this evening, with the West Waterford golfer 8 shots off the pace of leader Scottie Scheffler.

It's been a weekend of stops and starts in Arizona with delays affecting play on each of the first three rounds.

Seamus finished his second round yesterday and following the cut, organisers were able to get the third round in the books before nightfall.

Shooting two level par rounds before the cut, the Touraneena man improved significantly on Saturday evening with a 5 under 66 sending him into a share of 20th.

18 of the world's top 20 were in attendance for the first tee on Thursday but the herd has been trimmed down significantly ahead of Sunday with big names sent for an early shower; Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Cantlay, Colin Morikawa, Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari to name a few.

Seamus is back out on the course this evening from half past four Irish-time, playing with Americans Scott Stallings and Adam Schenk.

Power remains best of the Irish as Rory McIlroy remains two shots further back following a 70 on Saturday.
