Joint Captains Lead Historic Success

Serving as joint captains, Hogan and Mahony played central roles as Ballygunner secured their second AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship title at Croke Park. Mahony delivered one of the defining moments of the final, striking a crucial goal that shifted momentum firmly in Ballygunner’s favour and gave the Waterford champions a platform they would not relinquish. Hogan, a constant attacking threat throughout the campaign, contributed vital scores and brought composure and experience to the biggest stage, driving standards on and off the field with his work off the ball, always tracking back for the team.

Cementing a Lasting Legacy

The victory marked Ballygunner’s second All-Ireland crown, adding to their 2022 breakthrough success and confirming their status among the elite clubs in Irish hurling. For Hogan and Mahony, lifting the Tommy Moore Cup together as joint captains was the ultimate reward for years of dedication, leadership, and consistency at the highest level of the club game.
