Waterford Camogie is calling on support from the Déise community. The county’s senior panel is launching a special fundraising event this Saturday.

The fundraiser will support the senior camogie team. All money raised will go towards essential costs. These include training, preparation, and strength and conditioning.

Camogie continues to grow across Waterford. Teams now compete at every age grade, from under-14 up to senior level. More than 200 players are involved in county panels. Some are as young as 13 and play on development squads.

The senior team is in strong form. They recently recorded a major win over the reigning All-Ireland champions. That result highlights the panel’s potential and determination.

Success at the inter-county level requires major preparation. Costs include facilities, travel, and equipment. Professional strength and conditioning support is also needed. Fundraising events like Pedal for the Déise are vital to support this work.

The campaign also highlights the importance of keeping girls and women in sport. Opportunities and proper pathways help young players stay active. They also build confidence and develop their skills.

Supporters are encouraged to get behind the team. Donations can be made through the iDonate page. Every contribution will help the players and the continued growth of camogie in Waterford.

Waterford Camogie is once again asking the Déise community for support. The aim is to help drive the team forward this season.

The event takes place this Saturday, March 28th. It will run from 9 am to 6 pm. Locations are City Square in Waterford and Garvey’s in Dungarvan.
