Four time league winners Peamount United came away with a hard fought three points in the south-east yesterday afternoon.

The Peas edged past Waterford FC women at the RSC on a 1-0 scoreline thanks to a second half winner from former Republic of Ireland international Karen Duggan.

The result sees the Blues drop to tenth place in the League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division with rivals Cork City one place ahead after their Saturday draw with bottom placed DLR Waves. However, the newest addition to the top flight of women’s football have one match in hand over their neighbours.

Waterford face Glentoran next in the All Island Cup on Saturday, 24th May at the RSC.
