Waterford FC have confirmed the release of nine first team players following the conclusion of the 2025 league campaign where it took a relegation playoff win for the Blues to retain their status.

Stephen McMullan and Conan Noonan have returned to Fleetwood Town and Shamrock Rovers respectively following the conclusion of their loans while twelve players remain under contract including captain Podge Amond, strike partner Tommy Lonergan and Matty Smith as well as Sam Glenfield who scored the winning goal in the playoff against Bray Wanderers.

Contracts have been offered to a number of players including Kyle Whyte and Dean McMenamy who has accepted a new deal to remain at the RSC.

The club have thanked all those players for their commitment and effort through what was a difficult 2025 season.
