The Waterford county board are on the lookout for new minor football and Under 20 hurling managers as Michael Murphy and Gary O'Keeffe have decided to step down from their positions.
In Murphy's first year in charge of the minor footballers, the Déise suffered defeats to Clare, Tipperary and Limerick in Phase 1 of the Munster championship. O'Keeffe spent two years with the Under 20 hurlers. They finished bottom of the provincial table in 2023 after losses to Limerick, Cork, Clare and Tipperary.
A selection committee will be appointed shortly consisting of two board officers, two ex-players and an independent observer. Chairman Sean Michael O’Regan thanked the outgoing managers for their efforts at last night's county board meeting in Dungarvan.
The executive will sit down in the coming weeks with senior managers Davy Fitzgerald and Ephie Fitzgerald to review the 2023 season.
