Cheltenham Festival winners heading to Naas on Saturday

A couple of Cheltenham Festival winners are stand-out contenders for two of the seven races at Naas on Saturday.

Both hail for the Willie Mullins stable and Elimay, winner of the Mares’ Chase at Cheltenham last March, tops the runners for the BBA Ireland Limited Opera Hat Mares Chase while Hunters’ Chase hero Billaway heads the field for the Naas Farm Machinery Hunters Chase.

Cheltenham Festival prospects on trial at Navan

There will be Cheltenham Festival and Aintree Grand National clues aplenty on Sunday’s eight-race card at Navan.

Cheltenham comes into focus with leading Stayers’ Hurdle fancies Blazing Kal and Saint Sam featuring among nine runners for the Grade 2 William Hill Boyne Hurdle while among the 54 entries announced this week for the Aintree spectacular in April are Frontal Assault and Darrens Hope who line out for the 10-runner Grade 2 William Hill Ten Up Novice Chase.

The first race at Navan on Sunday is off at 1.10 pm.
