With most county championships now concluded, attention turns to provincial action as Waterford clubs prepare for busy weeks ahead in the Munster Club Championships across hurling, football, camogie and ladies’ football.

Reigning county senior hurling champions Ballygunner will open their provincial campaign on Sunday, November 2nd, when they travel to the TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick to face either Doon or Na Piarsaigh in the Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship quarter-final at 4.00pm. The semi-finals are fixed for Sunday, November 16th, with the final on Sunday, November 30th.

In the Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, Tallow will represent Waterford following their run to the county final, stepping up as Ballygunner’s involvement in the senior grade prevents two teams from the same club playing at provincial level. They will face the Limerick representatives, Effin or Garryspillane, at Cappoquin Logistics Fraher Field, Dungarvan, also on Sunday, November 2nd, with a 1.30pm throw-in.

Kilrossanty, county junior hurling champions, will open their Munster campaign at home to The Banner of Clare on Saturday, November 1st, at a Waterford venue to be confirmed. Throw-in is at 1.30pm, with semi-finals on Saturday, November 15th and the final on Saturday, November 29th.

In football, the Waterford senior champions will travel to Clare for their Munster Senior Club Football Championship quarter-final against Éire Óg, Ennis, on Sunday, November 9th, at 1.30pm. Semi-finals will follow on Sunday, November 23rd, and the final is fixed for Sunday, December 7th.

The Waterford intermediate football champions will also travel to Clare to meet Corofin in their quarter-final on Sunday, November 9th, at 1.30pm, with semi-finals and finals on November 23rd and December 6th respectively.

At junior level, the Waterford football champions will enjoy home advantage for their Munster Junior Club Football Championship quarter-final against the Cork champions on Saturday, November 8th, at 1.30pm (venue to be confirmed). Semi-finals take place on Saturday, November 23rd, with the final on Saturday, December 6th.

In camogie, De La Salle will represent the county in the Munster Senior Club Camogie Championship semi-final on Saturday, November 8th, at 1.00pm, hosting the Tipperary or Kerry champions at a Waterford venue to be confirmed. The final is set for Saturday, November 22nd.

Lismore will travel to Clare for their Munster Junior Club Camogie Championship semi-final on Sunday, November 9th, at 1.00pm, where they will meet the Clare champions. The final will take place on Sunday, November 23rd.

The first Waterford side into Munster action this season are Comeragh Rangers, who will host Éire Óg of Cork in the Munster Senior Ladies’ Football Championship quarter-final this Saturday (October 18th) at 2.00pm in St Molleran’s GAA Grounds, Carrickbeg. Should Comeragh Rangers progress, they will meet Kilmihill of Clare in the semi-final the following weekend, with the final scheduled for the opening days of November.
