The ongoing dispute over the County Intermediate Camogie Final hit another hurdle early this week, with Modeligo's newest appeal failing at the National level.
The club petitioned the National Transfers, Hearing and Disciplinary Committee (NTHDC) following their failed appeal with Munster Camogie to overturn the decision to award Butlerstown the title.
Modeligo had appealed that on grounds of player welfare, the final should have been moved back from Sunday in order to avoid the Modeligo players playing two games back to back.
About 15-20 Modeligo players play football for Na Déise, who were playing a Munster Club ladies' football semi-final on Saturday. Na Déise had also tried to get their game moved on the ladies' football side, but they also failed.
With Munster Camogie not satisfied that Modeligo's appeal warranted a refixing of the game, Waterford Camogie were instructed to apply the appropriate rules (33.2 and 33.3 of the Camogie Association Official Rules Part 1 Section E, Competitions Management and Administration, Control of Matches and Penalties).
Following that failed appeal with Munster, Modeligo sought a resolution at the national level with the NTHDC but again, failed.
In a statement to WLR Sport, Modeligo Camogie Club say they are "very disappointed with the news late last night [Monday] that our appeal to the Camogie Association’s NTHDC was dismissed without even granting us a Hearing. We are considering this outcome before deciding our next move."
Few options remain for Modeligo, with a Final Appeals Committee and the Disputes Resolution Authority the last lines of inquiry if they are to change the decision to award the game to Butlerstown.
If Modeligo choose to pursue either of the final two options they would need to get their answer in the next few days for it to be of any use.
The Munster Intermediate Club Camogie Championship begins on November 18th for Waterford's representatives - Butlerstown as it stands.
If either national body were to overturn the Waterford County Board's original decision, any potential refixing of the County Final would have to happen this weekend (Nov 10-12).
WLR Sport understands that Modeligo have not yet filed an appeal with either the Final Appeals Committee or the Disputes Resolution Authority.
