"The only way to describe it is we deserve it. We do and we know that in ourselves."
Those were the thoughts of Modeligo captain Rhona Drohan after she hoisted the Munster Junior Club Camógie Championship on Sunday afternoon.
The West Waterford club defeated Limerick champions Croagh Kilfinny by a single point in a tight encounter in Fethard, Co. Tipperary.
Waterford star Mairead O'Brien struck 1-4 as her side won on a scoreline of 2-5 to 0-10.
Speaking to Tomás McCarthy after the game, Captain Rhona Drohan said it "means so much to the parish of Modeligo."
The green and white leader stated that there was a strong belief within the group before the match.
"Everyone pulled together. There was no one individual. We all said together, we're going to do it," she said.
Drohan said that it is a 'bonus' to lift the provincial crown but that the squad will continue to dream.
"We're going to keep on going and dream big."
The Modeligo captain was full of praise for markswoman Mairead O'Brien who accumulated five of the club's seven scores on the day.
"She's an inspiration to us all. She's brilliant," Drohan said.
