It was a busy day for Waterford soccer with three clubs in provincial action across the Munster Junior Cup and Munster Junior Shield.

Villa FC advanced to the last four of the Junior Cup thanks to a brace of penalties from Dean Walsh before Alex Phelan sealed the win with the Poleberry’s outfits third with less than fifteen minutes to go.

However, it wasn’t to be for fellow Waterford Premier League side Portlaw United who fell to the formidable Pike Rovers of Limerick 2-0.

Tramore AFC advanced in the Munster Junior Shield at the expense of Limerick’s Aisling Annacotty 2-0.
