Michelle Ryan claims April WLR / Granville Hotel GAA Award

Ballymacarbry goal getter Michelle Ryan is the April winner of the WLR Granville Hotel GAA Award.

The experienced attacker scored 3-3 in the Division 2 semi final win over Cavan and followed that up with 1-1 in the final against Kerry as the Deise earned promotion to the top flight. Ryan has been part of the Waterford first team for the last nineteen seasons.

She enjoyed picking up another piece of national silverware last month.

Michelle said that she comes from a football mad family. Her father Michael guided the Ballymacabry ladies to ten All Irelands and the Waterford ladies to five All Irelands and Michelle followed him everywhere

Marie Crotty was one of her idols growing up.

The Waterford ladies travel to Cork on Sunday evening in the second round of the Munster championship.

A draw will see the Deise through the provincial final and Ryan says that it will be a step up in class against the Division 1 winners.
