Waterford's Shamie McDonagh has won his opening bout of the European U22 Boxing Championships in Montenegro.
It was a clean 5-0 sweep on the judges score cards against Kagan Bilge Kanli.
McDonagh won the National U22's last year, as well as boxing for Ireland at the U22 Euro's in Croatia in 2022 where he was denied a medal by Turkish boxer Kerem Ozmen.
Shamie will now face Lasha Gagnidze from Georgia in the Last 16 on Tuesday.

Chantelle Robinson will face Poland's Natalia do Kuczewska in her opening bout at 50 kilos. She's due in the ring on Wednesday afternoon.
