West Waterford athlete Lucy Holmes posted a career-best time in winning a British Milers Club event in Trafford on Saturday.
At the BMC (British Milers Club) Grand Prix meet held at the Longford Park Stadium in Stretford, Manchester - West Waterford's Lucy Holmes, in her final race for the season, put in a superb performance to win her event over 800m and to sign off the outdoor track year by recording a new personal best time of 2.06.56.
She had finished fourth in the 800m at the National Championships in Santry, Dublin two weeks ago - in what was her previous personal best time of 2.07.70.
