Lonergan makes Blues move permanent

Waterford FC have announced that Tommy Lonergan has made his loan move to the Blues a permanent deal with a multi year contract being agreed.
Lonergan, who joined Waterford on loan from Fleetwood Town at the beginning of the season, has been impressive up front, scoring on his debut and has notched six goals in the Premier Division so far this season, including a stunning header against Cork City last Friday.
The Meath native came through the St Patrick’s Athletic Academy before moving the UCD in 2022. He scored the winning goal that saw the students dispatch Waterford FC to the First Division back in 2022.
He returned to Inchicore in 2023, making 36 appearances in all competitions and scoring in their FAI Cup final win over Bohemians before earning a move to Fleetwood Town at the beginning of 2024.
He has also been capped by the Republic of Ireland at all levels up to Under 21 level.
