Second placed Hibernians defeated Southend United 2-1 in Mitchell Kennedy Park. Kenny Purcell and a late Thomas Whitty goal sealed their victory.
Ferrybank still lead the table with 35 points. Hibernians have moved on to a total of 34 points and Carrick are in third position with 32 points but they have a game in hand of Ferrybank who they play at the Village Grounds on Saturday night.
