Following Ferrybank's 4-2 victory over Southend last night, Carrick United and Hibernians, the other two clubs in the chase for the title clashed in Tom Drohan Park today.

Both sides needed to win to remain in the title race and it was Carrick who closed the gap on Ferrybank as they came out on top by four goals to one.

Jack Doherty scored twice inside the opening 23 minutes and Eric O'Halloran made in 3-0 on the half hour mark.

Eohan Burke put the game to bed with a 4th Carrick goal just before the half time break. Jason Keane score a late consolation from the penalty spot for Hibs.

St Saviou'r days in the Premier League looked numbered as they crashed 3-1 at home to the Villa.They remain rooted to the bottom with just 8 points.

Waterford Crystal secured their survival last night as they defeated Dungarvan United 4-1 in Kilrush Park.
