It's been a month since we've had any fixtures in the Waterford Premier League, but this weekend the action returns with a bang.
Two games are set to be decided from Friday to Sunday with sides from the top, middle and bottom of the table stepping across the white lines.
Bohemians host Tramore on Friday evening for a clash of 5th versus 8th with four points separating the sides, albeit with Boh's holding a game in hand on the seaside club. A win for Morgan Pender's Boh's would see them make a significant jump up the table into second place ahead of Hibs. They get underway from 7 o'clock.
Saturday's clash of Ferrybank and Dungarvan has been postponed due to a death in the Ferrybank club.
On Sunday Carrick United will be aiming to register their first win of the year. Carrick have struggled so far in the season and are yet to pick up a point in the league - they are the only side still looking for a point - and prop up the bottom of the table.
Hibs meanwhile begin the weekend in second place, nine points off Villa at the summit. While a win for Boh's would see them jump ahead of Hibs, they would have the chance to reclaim that second-place standing by picking up three points from Carrick.
The action on Sunday kicks off at 11 am.
With the Premier League making its return there is plenty more to consider outside of the county on Sunday.
Villa will be hoping to add to their silverware from last season when they head to Clonmel. Conor Coad's side face St Michaels of Tipperary in the Munster Champions Cup Final where they get underway at 1 o clock at Clonmel Celtic.
The sides last met in the FAI Junior Cup last year, with Villa winning 4-2 on the day. The Waterford side are currently top of the premier league - with a nine-point cushion over Hibs - albeit with two games in hand.
There are more Cup Competitions to contend with on Sunday as Southend are in the Munster Youth Cup and Waterford Crystal are in the Munster Junior Cup.
Both sides are on the road for these fourth-round games with Crystal first up at 2 o clock at Killarney Celtic. This game was due to be played on December 11th but the poor weather leading into Christmas saw it postponed. Last time out Southend put up a massive scoreline against Gorey Rangers when they thumped the Wexford side 7 nil. Conor Tobin bagged three that day with Brian ONeill adding two while Jack Twomey and Tommy Mullally both got a goal each.
In the youth cup, Southend will be hoping to see their way past Killarney Celtic when they kick off at 4.30 pm.
