Lismore secured their fifth Munster Intermediate title following a five point win over Cork champions Newcestown in the Provincial Final this afternoon at the Castle Grounds, Mahon.
The Waterford champions were 1-6 to 0-4 ahead at half-time, the goal coming from Catriona McGlone who netted her seventh goal in four outings.
Aoife Hannon hit seven points from placed balls for the Black and Amber whose defence was rock solid throughout with Marie Russell picking up the player of the match award.
Tanya Morrissey made an excellent save at the end for Lismore as Newcestown piled on the pressure, but there was to be no denying Lismore who scored a 1-10 to 0-8 victory.
Lismore captain Nicola Morrissey lifted the trophy afterwards, and Lismore can now look forward to the All-Ireland series.
