Injury time drama in Carrickbeg on Friday night as Passage claimed a 1-23 to 0-25 victory over fourteen man Fourmilewater in the Waterford SHC.

Vinny Keane’s men trailed by four points with 58 minutes on the clock despite playing with an extra man for most of the second half. A fantastic solo goal from Mark Fitzgerald levelled the match in injury time. The Waterford defender, operating at full forward, shot 1-4 on his return from Boston. In the 63rd minute, Kevin Cullinane struck the winner

Fourmile went down to fourteen when defender James McGrath received his second yellow card eight minutes into the second half. A point from Rory Jacob followed to make it 17-11 in favour of Passage. The 2013 winners couldn’t make the extra man count however as Fourmile turned a six point deficit into a four point lead. Jamie Barron, Tholom Guiry and Evan Spelman were all instrumental for the Ballymacarbry outfit. They couldn’t seal the deal however and suffered their second one point defeat in the space of six days.
