Waterford FC have another point on the board this evening after a 2-2 draw against visiting side, Derry City in the RSC.

Alan Reynolds’ side went 0-1 down just before half-time after David Parkhouse put the visitors ahead on 42 minutes.

The first equaliser came mid way through the second half from bluesman, Izzy Akinade, before Derry City's Darren Cole scored an 88th minute screamer to put Derry in the lead.

Three minutes into stoppage time, a well-taken Shane Duggan penalty secured a draw for Waterford FC and the match finished 2-2 in the RSC.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie ahead of kick off today, Waterford FC manager Alan Reynolds said:

“I think that ranks up there as one of our best performances this season [against Cork City]. I thought in the second half of the game there was only one winner.

“Monday offers something different again with Derry City in really good form at the moment. Declan is doing a good job up there and they have quality players. They lost narrowly on Friday but they’re well up there. We competed well against them away from home earlier in the season so we need a good performance again on Monday to match how we played against Cork.

“We picked up a couple of knocks on Friday night so we might need to rearrange a few things but we’ve good players to step in if needed; they all can’t wait to get back on the pitch after Friday’s performance.”

Waterford FC travel to Dalymount park on Friday 26th April to take on Bohemians. WLR will cover the match live thanks to Clem Jacob Hire.
