The Saviours Crystals boxer cruised through his first two preliminaries, winning his most recent bout by first-round stoppage.
Today, he takes on Armenian Rafayel Hovhannisyan in what will be bout number nine of the afternoon session that starts at midday, Irish time.
While his first two opponents had little experience at this level, Hovhannisyan could pose a problem.
At 22 years of age, the Armenian boasts a record of 14-8-0 with three knockouts, having boxed at the European U23 Championships, albeit he was stopped at the quarter-final stage.
If Cassidy can win this bout, he will be within one win of booking his ticket to Paris.
