Roanmore are Junior A hurling champions for the first time in 44 years.

Man of the match Sean Roche shot 3-2 from play as the Sky Blues celebrated a 4-17 to 1-10 victory over Kilrossanty in the Fraher Field sunshine.

The game was done and dusted in the first quarter as Stephen Gough's wind assisted side struck three quickfire goals. In the ninth minute, a long range free from Emmet O'Toole was flicked home by Sean Roche. The corner forward got in behind the Kilrossanty defence just a minute later and found the far corner. Brian Everard then fired a low shot under Joey Veale (3-4 to 0-1). Three green flags in as many minutes. Roche completed the half with 2-2 from play while Josh Sheridan shot four points as Roanmore led by sixteen points at the break (3-10 to 0-3).

Roche completed his hat trick five minutes into the second half when he rifled a shot to the roof of the net. Padraig Fitzgerald got a consolation goal on 43 minutes for Kilrossanty. The county man scored 1-6 while twin brother Seamus got two two points. Josh Sheridan added four more points to finish with eight in total. Callum Carroll chipped in with three from play.
