Joe Gough claims World Masters silver medal
On Sunday evening in Alachua, Florida, Joe Gough of West Waterford claimed the silver medal at the World Masters Indoor Championships.
Gough finished second in the over 70s 1500 metres final where he was pipped to the gold by Omar Clok of Uruguay who finished in 5 minutes 16.37 seconds, just .13 of a second ahead of the West Waterford man.
George Henehan of the USA rounded out the podium.
Previous to last night’s achievement, Joe Gough recently won gold in the 800 metres event.
