Former Waterford United chairman Joe Delaney has died.
Joe helped bring the FAI Cup to Waterford in 1980. Joe grew up in Marymount, Ferrybank, and joined the board of the Blues as a director in 1973.
He became chairman in 1976 and held that position until he chose to step down in 1982.

Delaney is credited as the man who brought former Manchester United great Bobby Charlton to the club.
He was also a member of the FAI Executive Committee for twenty years, a successful businessman, and a former Mayor of Tipperary.
