Jerry Wallace has stepped aside as Waterford senior camogie manager.
The Cork native, who guided Waterford to the All-Ireland quarter-finals last year, took the decision to step aside following the conclusion and review of the National League campaign – which saw Waterford narrowly retain their Division 1 status with a one-point win against Tipperary at the weekend.
A statement issued tonight reads:
“Following the conclusion and review of the National Camogie League 2025, Waterford Camogie are parting company with Jerry Wallace Manager and would like to thank him for participating as Senior Manager and Lead Coach with their Senior Inter-County team for season 2024/25,” the statement read.
“In a review of the season to date Jerry noted and complimented the players of Waterford for their spirit, commitment to rise to the next level, their work ethic and respect shown to him, but now is the time to allow some other person/persons continue the Waterford Senior Camogie Journey.
“The team now enters preparation for the Munster Semi-Final vs Tipperary and All Ireland championship and will have a new management team in place shortly. The Waterford Camogie Board would like to acknowledge Wallace for stepping in following Waterford’s demise in the 2023 All Ireland Final to Cork and for recreating a strong, confident, competitive inter-county program for their players. We wish Jerry the very best as he now retires from coaching with great memories.”
