Tramore's Tara Power sampled several sports before she broke onto the Waterford camogie team.
"Soccer would have been number one for a while. I drifted off the camogie scene; we had about five years at club level where Tramore didn't field an adult team. Rather than moving clubs, I just decided to focus on soccer. I was playing with the likes of Wexford Youths and Kilkenny United for a while. I've tried my hand at everything. I played volleyball, basketball, gave golf a go! My sole focus is camogie at the moment so I'll stick with that!"
Power played in the forwards under Derek Lyons and Sean Power but has started in the half back line since Jerry Wallace took over. "I'm enjoying it I must say. Back in my younger years, I would have given out about playing in the half back line. I always liked getting a few scores on the board but I'm actually enjoying it back there."
Waterford welcome Kilkenny to the SETU Arena this afternoon in the last round of the National League. The Déise need a win and other results to go their way to make the Division 1A final on April 14. Throw in is at 2 o'clock.
