The Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse is one of very few races to elude the CV of Henry de Bromhead.

30 horses will take to the field at Fairyhouse tomorrow for flagfall at 5pm in what promises to be a fascinating Easter Monday spectacle.

The Waterford trainer will have just one runner in the race – with stable jockey Rachael Blackmore set to partner Harry Des Ongrais.

The 8-year-old got off the mark in what was just his second chase start in a two-and-a-half mile affair at Gowran Park in February before finishing second at Limerick last month where the step up in trip seemed to bring about further improvement.

Early market favouritism has flipflopped between the Gavin Cromwell-trained Now Is The Hour – one of seven chances for the Cheltenham Gold Cup winning handler – and British raider Haiti Couleurs, trained by Rebecca Curtis – a striking winner of the National Hunt Handicap at the Cheltenham Festival.
