Ireland 2027 Rugby draw

Ireland 2027 Rugby Draw
Ireland have been drawn alongside Scotland, Uruguay and Portugal in the pool stage for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. The Ireland 2027 Rugby draw sees the Scots become familiar opponents once again, marking the third World Cup in a row where the sides will meet in the pool phase.
Elsewhere in the tournament, hosts Australia have been paired with New Zealand in Pool A, while defending champions South Africa headline Pool B alongside Italy, Georgia and Romania. The Australia vs New Zealand clash is already being viewed as one of the standout early matchups.
Ireland’s history with Scotland is long-running — Scotland claimed victory in their 1991 World Cup meeting, but Ireland won the most recent encounters in 2019 and 2023. The 2027 tournament will also bring new challenges, including Ireland’s first-ever Test meeting with Uruguay. They also faced Portugal for the first time in a Test earlier this year, securing a record 106–7 win in Lisbon
