It has been reported that an inter-county Gaelic footballer has failed a drugs test after being tested earlier this year.

As part of Sport Ireland's anti-doping programme, the player in question, who is in his 30s, failed the test following an Allianz League game in February.

It is understood that the player is appealing the outcome of the test, a process that could take up to three months.
