Former Waterford manager Derek McGrath believes that Sunday's senior hurling final should be played at the redeveloped Walsh Park. Fraher Field will play host to Ballygunner versus Abbeyside in a repeat of the 2018 decider.

Traditionally, the county finals alternate between Fraher Field and Walsh Park every second year.  All six hurling showdowns will take place in Dungarvan this time around. McGrath feels that the showpiece occasion should be staged at the Keane's Road venue after its recent facelift.

"It's so well served at the moment both in terms of the playing surface and the amenities available. It's 'the' venue at the moment in terms of Waterford, even the nights we played Tipperary and Cork there. I think the final should be there. The other thing I'd say is that Abbeyside played really well there last Sunday. If I had my vote, I'd be voting for it in Walsh Park and so would a lot of people. Look, we'll still travel to Dungarvan. It's a county final. If you love your hurling, you'll be up there watching it."
