Former Déise manager Derek McGrath is predicting a draw in Sunday's Munster championship showdown between Limerick and Waterford at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

A share of the spoils will send both counties through to the All Ireland series. "I'd be hopeful we could get a draw," McGrath told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "There's part of me very divided on it. I was at the Cork-Limerick match; the level of play was nothing I've seen in a long time. In actual fact, I'd put it down as the best game of hurling I was ever at. I was tired after watching it! The way Limerick came back suggested to me that they'll be on point. Therefore, Waterford will have to be very much on point to get the draw that's needed. I'd be hopeful that we could secure something out of it that keeps us in the championship. A lot will have to go right for us, our big players will have to continue to produce. I'd like to see Jamie Barron go back to the middle of the field. He has started in the forward line; I'd like to see him going back home. I'm not sure about the fitness issues around Darragh Lyons and Patrick Curran so that might happen."
Waterford must hit the ground running to upset the All Ireland champions. "I think they'll need a good start first and foremost. I think we need to attack the game, I think we need goals, similar to Cork. The long puckout could be something that would work well against Limerick. Down on Declan Hannon's head with Michael Kiely coming out from behind and runners coming from deep. Jamie Barron's goal is the perfect example of that in the first game."
