West Waterford's Gary Hurley believes he can draw on his past experience when he tees off in the final stage of the DP World Tour Q School in Spain tomorrow.
A solid campaign back on the Challenge Tour this year culminated in a tied 31st place finish at the Rolex Grand Final in Mallorca last week but it wasn't enough for him to join Conor Purcell and Tom McKibbin on the main tour for 2025.
Hurley, who earned his full playing rights on the European Tour back in 2022 at the same venue, is hoping his knowledge of the Infinitum Golf resort in Tarragona and he believes he is playing well enough to come through the gruelling six round event - one of golf's toughest tests.
“I know the two courses quite well but the main thing is to be fresh on Friday It’s funny how it goes you can be three rounds in and think it’s nearly over but you still have three rounds to go. Six rounds is a funny one.
“I know I can do it, I’ve done it before, I was playing quite nicely going into it the last time. I feel like I’m playing pretty solid going into it this time as well so just stay patient and being present in what I’m doing and sticking to the processes that I go through.

Each player will play two rounds over INFINITUM's Lakes and Hills courses before a 72-hole cut is made.
The final two rounds will then see the remaining players battle it out to finish in the top 20, with the top 20 and ties earning playing privileges on the DP World Tour for next season.
Hurley will be joined in Tarragona by the amateur Max Kennedy from Royal Dublin and Ballymena's Dermot McElroy who has bounced back from a freak wrist injury while playing football as the only Irish to make it through to the Final Stage.
