Kellyann Hogan will captain the Waterford ladies football team in 2024.
The midfielder played a starring role in Ballymacarbry's run to the All Ireland club final before Christmas. She was named as Player of the Match in the county final win over Comeragh Rangers. Across the Munster and All Ireland series, she scored 2-21 including 2-5 against Fethard. She picked up the WLR Granville Hotel GAA Award for October.
The number eight had the honour of kicking Ballymac's first ever point in Croke Park during the All Ireland final loss to Kilkerrin-Clonberne. Hogan raised five white flags that evening. "She’s a Rolls-Royce of a footballer", remarked former Waterford boss Michael Ryan afterwards.
Hogan has been part of the Déise senior set-up for the past seven seasons. She won a Division 2 medal in 2019.
Defender Hannah Power from St Pats will act as vice-captain. The Déise start their Division 1 campaign away to Armagh in Crossmaglen on Sunday.
