Former Déise hurling boss Michael Ryan believes that Passage defender Mark Fitzgerald has a bright future.

The 20 year old has firmly established himself in Davy Fitzgerald's side over the past two seasons.  Ryan has been blown away by his recent performances with Waterford and UL.

"He can play anywhere from number two to number seven. I think he's a Rolls-Royce of a hurler. He's a really good lad. He loves the physical stuff. He's comfortable on the ball, he can take the ball out. Ideally, I'd like to see him play at wing back; I think there's a score or two in him. He's brave, he's fearless."

Hear more from Michael Ryan on Lár Na Páirce from 6.10 this evening.
