Former Déise attacker Michelle Ryan says that Karen McGrath is an inspirational figure for the Waterford ladies. The Ballymacarbry defender held Tipperary forward Aishling Moloney scoreless from play last weekend.

"She oozes everything that is good about football. Her attitude is always spot on. She is a player that others look up to. Whether they're younger or older, it doesn't matter. She has that character within herself. She really leads from the front and she has a sensible head on her shoulders. She was given a task last week against Aishling Moloney. We all know the All Star Aishling Moloney is. She scored 1-12 against Cork before that. To hold her to three points from frees is an incredible feat."

Waterford will face Cork in Round 3 of the Munster Championship on Sunday. A win will send Pat Sullivan's side through to the provincial decider. Throw in is at 2 o'clock in Clonakilty.
