Former Waterford boss Michael Ryan says that Kevin Mahony has been a star performer for club and county in 2024.
The full forward has scored 3-8 from play in three games for the Ballygunner this season including 1-4 against De La Salle last time out. "He's very brave, he's quick, he attacks the ball. He always provides an outlet for his players way out the field by the runs he makes. He's very strong on the ball and he knows where the posts are."
The Gunners are currently 56 games unbeaten in the Déise. "They've been an incredible team in this county. People give out about them but I never complain about Ballygunner. It's not up to Ballygunner to come back to the pack. It's up to the other Waterford teams to raise their standards to catch them. I think the gap is closing but they are still a formidable force."
Michael Ryan previewed both senior hurling semi finals on Friday's Lár Na Páirce show.
